Boston Part II

So, if you haven't heard; I'm staying in Boston another year to be with my bf.  We've been together for a year.  Awesome!  Also, finished residency.  As a reward, I took some time off to go to cali, cancun, etc.  I started taking swim lessons too.  It's nice, compared to last year when I hardly knew anyone and trying to figure my way around boston.  See ya later

New Haircut

hair

Hey,

Hope you guys dig my new haircut.  Saw the hair on actress Maraji Henderson (Benjamin Button's mom) and thought it looked great on her.  Plus, I needed to get rid of my split ends and the color is growing out.  Didn't realize how short it was until now.  Well, hair grows.  I've cut it this short in the past, but this is definitely the best job.  I go to Blu Salon in Newbury.  The place is expensive, but guaranteed good job.  Once my whole head is white, I'm going platinum baby.

Snow, Snow, Snow

 snow

Not since I was a kid have I seen this much snow when I lived in the south.  Wish it wasn't so cold since it's actually really pretty.  Poetic that the first real big snow occurred the 1st day of winter.  Not sure if the snow is clean or I would flavor it up and make snow cones - yum.

Gosh, so much has happened since I left Cali.  My parents are officially getting divorced this time.  I guess it was coming with all the issues the past 3 yrs.  Regardless, I'm looking forward to coming home for xmas.  I haven't seen my family since May (7 months!).  Funny how I use to think being in San Francisco made it hard to travel home.

Doing my resident thing at St. E's.  It was so hard at first being the only resident and having no peeps in Boston.  Now, I'm starting to make friends here and there.  I now know people from other departments in the hospital and getting to know other pharmacy residents in Boston.  I've been getting out by going to drug dinners - a girl got to eat.  In fact, it's at the first drug dinner that I met my current bf.  That's all I'm going to say since I want to keep it to myself - celebrity style.

I really have no idea yet if I will stay in Boston or move back home.  I'm torn since I have to decide between my family and cali or my bf and boston.   Pretty soon I'll have to make a decision with both my residency and lease ending.

I must say that I thought life would be less crazy post-school.  Instead, it's just as chaotic and the decisions just get harder.  I'm just grateful for all the people that love me and the goodness that God puts my way whenever I feel I can't take much more.  Just wishin everyone else a merry xmas!

Boston Update

Favorite places so far: ice cream at JP Licks-favorite flavor "Cow Tracks" (choc chips, caramel swirl, & cream flavored ice cream), pizza at Upper Crust-thin crust, & fancy window shopping at Copley Square.  Lately, been going to dinners sponsored by drug companies-FREE FOOD.  Will report more regarding restaurants in the future.

Non-favorite: the Asian food is okay.  Chinatown is small, just souvenirs.  Missing Cali at this point for these reasons.  Only found a few restaurants that I think are good.  Still think San Francisco has better restaurants. Not blown away by clam chowder, but cool that you can get a whole lobster meal.

At work, there's a few cuties.  I get nervous when one pops up out of nowhere.  Seriously, one resident looks like a Chinese Ethan Hawke.   In general, Boston is the place to be if you want an educated guy.  So far, the ones I've met have gone or going to Amhearst, Emerson, and Harvard.

Biggest fear- the snow.  In preparation for my first New England winter, I've bought a mossy green down North Face jacket, & tan Emu boots (Ugg knockoffs-haha).  I really do hope that I do not get buried in the snow and become a snowwoman...haha.  A lady at work told me that sometimes the snow gets so high that after they shovel the streets, you feel like you walking down a hallway made of snow.  We shall see.  But the spring, summer weather minus humidity is great.
